A fun and enriching social opportunity for teens and young adults with developmental disabilities and support and resources for their families.
This workshop series is designed for adults on the autism spectrum who are interested in entering the world of romantic relationships or want to learn more. Each class will incorporate interactive, concrete activities to support learning as well as resources and ideas for parents/caregivers to reinforce learning at home and in the community.
Pubescence is a normal and healthy part of growing up for everyone. This webinar series is designed for teens with autism and with other developmental disabilities who are just beginning, or in the midst of typical body changes that accompany puberty. Students will learn about privacy, body changes, as well as healthy ways to handle these changes. Each class will incorporate interactive, concrete activities to support learning as well as resources and ideas for parents to reinforce learning at home and in the community.
We enjoy the great outdoors because we know that being outside boosts our moods and improves our mental health. Spending quality time out in nature reduces our stress and calms our anxiety. Too, walking alongside friends, talking or simply taking in the serenity that nature brings — is our kind of exercise!
Join SPIRIT Club Saturdays starting March 25th at 10am PT for private live, interactive nutrition and fitness classes. The workshop is vendored by Lanterman Regional Centers as well. Inquire with your Regional Center Service Coordinator.

In Recognition of Autism Awareness Month Autism Alliance SoCal Joins Modernica's One-of-Kind Art Show Celebrating Artists on the Autism Spectrum.
This speaker series will essentially walk teens through the stages of a friendship and give them the tools to build these relationships on their own. If the goal for someone on the spectrum is to live without assistance and with autonomy, then understanding how to find friendship with peers is an important part of their social emotional development.

FAA offers Speaker Resource Meetings and social events for individuals on the autism spectrum, parents, professionals, and caregivers. Meetings feature expert speakers on cutting-edge topics that impact Teens and Adults on the autism spectrum. The FAA speaker sessions provide an opportunity to strengthen the family and professional network. In addition to these Speaker Resource Meetings, FAA offers Social Events for the entire family.
FAA presents a series of workshops by seasoned professionals, hand-picked for their ability to capture and keep the interest of our spectrum Teens (13 – 17 years). These workshops cover topics that concern both parents and teens and are geared toward setting up our teens for future success.
Young Adults on the spectrum face unique challenges, and parents need to offer support but also know when to back away to foster independence. FAA presents workshop series on various aspects of adulthood led by dynamic experts in their fields. Last year’s workshops focused on employment, housing, communication, relationships and dating.
